Backend Engineer (Golang)

Your Role

• Build and scale backend services that serve real business impact
• Contribute to architectural decisions and system reliability
• Work with modern tooling and practices as part of a forward-thinking engineering team

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain scalable backend services in Golang
• Design APIs and event-driven systems in AWS
• Contribute to the technical roadmap and engineering standards
• Set up monitoring, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code
• Own services in production: testing, performance, reliability, and incident handling

What You’ll Get

• Annual salary between €70,000 and €85,000 based on 40 hours a week (incl. holiday allowance)

Team and Culture

You’ll join a Product & Tech department of around 40 people, working in small multidisciplinary teams with end-to-end ownership. There’s little hierarchy and plenty of room for initiative. Engineers drive technical decisions and are trusted to take responsibility from idea to production. We move fast, care about quality, and aim for simple, scalable solutions. What You’ll Bring

Essential

• 4+ years of backend engineering experience, with solid Golang skills
• Experience with API architecture and microservices
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
• Comfortable using AI-assisted tooling where it adds value
• Experience with relational databases

Nice to have

• Experience with event-driven architectures
• Kubernetes and containerization experience
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
• Familiarity with workflow engines like Temporal or Argo
